Tetê (Klara Castanho) ist klug, weiß aber nicht so richtig, wie sie mit anderen Kindern umgehen soll. Auch zuhause fühlt sie sich als Außenseiterin. Als ihre Eltern mit ihr zur Großmutter an die Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro ziehen, muss das 16-jährige Mädchen die Schule wechseln und hofft, dort endlich mal dazugehören und Freund*innen finden zu können. Das beliebteste Mädchen der Klasse macht es der unscheinbaren und unsicheren Tetê zwar nicht leicht, aber sie findet auch unerwartete Verbündete.
