Bathory: Countess of Blood
Im 16. Jahrhundert heiratet die junge Gräfin Erzsebet Bathory den ungarischen Fürsten Franz Nadasdy und wird dadurch zu einer der mächtigsten Regentinnen im Reiche Habsburg. Während ihr Gatte sich in Schlachten gegen die Osmanen einen Namen als "Schwarzer Ritter" macht, genehmigt sich Elisabeth daheim eine Affäre mit dem Maler Caravaggio, lässt sich von einer vermeintlichen Hexe Schönheitstipps geben und verhält sich zuweilen grob gegen ihre Mägde. Als Franz stirbt und König und Kirche auf ihre Güter schielen, dreht man ihr daraus einen Strick.
